What we do
For the last 26 years, the Heroes Foundation has been dedicated to empowering passionate people and Indiana based world-class programs with the necessary funding to tackle cancer and its effects on individuals and families across the state.

Our funding supports cancer patients regardless of their diagnosis. This allows us to support investigators whose work can impact how cancer is prevented, diagnosed, and treated.
Alarmingly...

In 2026, an estimated 44,950 Hoosiers will be diagnosed with cancer, and approximately 14,230 will lose their lives, according to the American Cancer Society.
And yet...

With the economy strained and uncertain, patients are struggling to manage the financial burden of treatment and are being forced to make impossible choices between their health and basic necessities.

Additionally, federal funding for cancer research is at an all-time low, and although an estimated 40% of new cancer cases in the U.S. are potentially preventable, awareness of cancer prevention remains low.
How we've made a difference
Cancer Support

We've funded art and music therapy programs, cancer support groups, in-hospital parties for children, basic needs assistance and more.
Cancer Prevention
$257,975 gifted since 2000
We provide support to fitness campaigns, a cycling/triathlon team, scholarships for future healthcare providers and more.
Cancer Research
$1.636M gifted since 2000
We've funded cancer research across cancer types inside Indiana’s top scientific research institutions.
